My holistic approach to counselling blends many different researched schools of thought — they incorporate body and mind.

I’m less concerned with labelling you with specific disorders or pathologies, and more interested in how to get you moving forward to feel better

I believe that the body stores things from our experiences that can remain largely unconscious — until we discover it, welcome it, and work with it. In this way, we may work with traditional talk therapy techniques and examine thoughts, patterns, and ideas analytically, but we will also use a somatic approach to see how our bodies and nervous systems are responding.

Often, protector parts in us are working hard to keep us safe, in all senses of that word. They’re not doing anything “bad” or “wrong” per se, but if something is keeping us stuck and we’re acting from a default pattern, we want to see if there’s a way of collaborating with that protective part to find a new way forward.
